The lecture aims to introduce the 2 types of popular pension schemes (Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit) with a concrete example of the challenges of implementing such a scheme in a company. The modelling part focuses on DC schemes and allows students to model their own DC investment strategy with the project helping students to learn and compare standard investment strategies including life cycle strategies (used for DC schemes).
